This tech, and each tech we have worked with in this process of setting everything up has been absolutely wonderful. There was a little confusion about the advantages of each company`s SSL and it is not clearly marked on your website anywhere. So we were getting different opinions depending upon which tech we talked to and it took a few tickets and lots of discussion to finally discover what appeared to be the best plan of action, but in any case you`re 24 hour support is amazing and wonderful. Using VPS services. Migrated 20 websites very quickly. Could not have accomplished without excellent documentation, Knowledgebase and top-notch, responsive tech support. Couldn`t recommend them more highly. Definitely worth the few extra dollars - you DO get what you pay for!!!
Migration completed successfully. There was a problem with the largest site not loading, but Josh fixed that quickly. He was very responsive through the process. If this first experience with A2 is any indication of future performance and service I will be a happy camper.
Seriously! It took JUST 7 minutes for an A2 support Agent Matt U to address and respond to my question about a recent (published this morning) report of a WordPress vulnerability that required a specific server-side configuration to secure. Not only did Matt confirm it had been addressed but also provided a link to WordPress.org showing a patch was put in place 24 hours ago.
1) Another reason people need to keep their WP & plugins updated
2) Yet another reason to LOVE A2 - best hosting and support I`ve ever had the pleasure to work with.
I simply don`t have anything bad to say about them.
We use a VPS from A2Hosting on which we host our client`s websites. There has been zero down-time so far (6 months or so) the performance is MUCH better than any previous host, and the support is excellent.
About the support in particular: I don`t feel like the support techs are just trying to get rid of tickets, drag their feet or are trying to just put the ball in my court, so to speak.
Instead, they`re genuinely motivated to solve whatever issue I have, even if sometimes it might be an oversight on my part and not necessarily having to do with their services.
Their responses are fast and on point, with practical solutions and fast resolution times. That`s what I like the most about them.
switched over to a2 to run magento 2. The switch was pleasant, with great support agents. As site was running, we found out the resources advertised were VERY misleading. IE. only 30 people can visit your site at once before it crashes. When speaking to one agent they said it was based on resources, maybe my platform was heavy, attach cloudfare, etc etc. Next agent told me - thats the limit they set for every single customer before crashing their site and creating errors. I had been on bluehost previously for over 10 years, the only reason i changed was because magento 2 was not yet properly supported - i never had a ``resource capacity`` of only 30 users - which means that any company can not use the plan.
Meanwhile one day my site just crashed. gone. After spending 7 hours, realized someone within a2 had played with the PHP and downgraded it among all accounts across the platform. (when i called them telling them my site had crashed, they couldnt figure it out...). Upgraded the PHP. Next day, search bar functionality gone, all tiers gone, links in my site not working. Spoke to an agent who said sometimes not everything automatically updates, and he will open a support ticket.
So i bought the more expensive VPS plan. Followed instructions over the phone to move over. spoke to agent who prioritized. spoke to next agent 2 days later who told me should be done shortly, but meanwhile needs to fix the issues with the PHP upgrade.
Get an email back from support after the support agent saw all my issues on the site ``we dont see any site issues at all`` and your site is not being upgraded because you never filled out the form at this and this link! Called agent ``yes, its not being done because you didnt fill out that form`` oh, and we cant help you with the site problems now, all we can do is set a backup for a few days ago before PHP was upgraded (BAD idea... always creates many bugs). When i asked him to please help and at least try to see if there was another solution, he said that`s beyond what they do and i could call my developer. I asked if downgrading my php and crashing the site was part of what they do... I believe the agents name was Justin. VERY bad service. very bad experience. will not be recommending.

The issue was a vexing one, and the outcome was not what I hoped for. However, the handling of the matter on the telephone was outstanding in terms of patience, willingness to work it out, and technical and industry knowledge. All in a very pleasant conversation. Almost made me forget that I would have preferred a different outcome, but I now understand the policy better. I do think that the website is misleading in terms of the amount of storage available for my plan.
Very nicely done. Had a site moved and, even though I gave some incorrect info, they worked with me to correct it and get the site up an running. Very responsive to my emails and understood what I was asking for even when I wasn`t technically proficient. Great customer service and a good result.

Having used several other hosters, I realized that the most important criterion in choosing a hosting company is User Support. Ignore it and perish.
A2hosting`s user support excels in dealing effectively with everything. Even when the problem is exogenous, they provide guidance on how to deal with it and solve it. ``Washing hands`` is not in their agenda.
That, combined with a comprehensive product offering and a solid infrastructure, makes me feel confident and helps me keep a good face with my own customers, whose websites I host at a2hosting.
My WordPress sites kept going down and I didn`t know why. I was worried that I would have to switch hosting providers. But A2 Hosting provided fast, friendly reply and an effective resolution to the issue the very first time I contacted them about it - even though it was 1 am! This reconfirms my opinion that this hosting company is the best!
For six years I worked with a host that often earns the number 1 spot on ``best web hosts`` sites for small business. However, I felt it time for a change when they over billed me for the second year (renewal rate higher than current published). Also, ``longer than usual wait times`` had become normal for tech support. And tech support, once excellent, had degraded to the point where after waiting 30 minutes for a tech, another 30 minutes ended with him insisting that bandwidth would automatically scale, despite clear evidence and their warning that my bandwidth was being throttled. So goodbye to InMotion, and welcome to A2.
I had one emailed question for tech support, not urgent, that was answered promptly. The user interface is clean and pleasant, which the previous host somehow wasn`t. And perhaps most refreshing, with standard plan (no turbo), Wordpress is noticeably faster, to the point that I immediately set about making hundreds of changes that would have a nightmare of wasted time on the previous host.
My first web host change and WordPress migration and all was complete in HOURS with the help of A2 tech support. The KB articles had me 99% there and then an email to support had it working in a very short period of time. No site downtime on top of all that. The performance of the site is MUCH faster than Bluehost was also. Great first impression.
I spent far too long with lesser hosts, not knowing that a company like A2 was out there. Not only are their servers far superior to my previous hosts, but their support has been top notch.
Server speeds - Exceptional for shared plans. Where I may have waited 5-7 seconds with other hosts, it`s nearly instant with A2.
Back end - The client area is informative, easy to navigate and offers an at-a-glance elegance that is superior to my past experiences.
cPanel - You can`t go wrong with cPanel. It`s the best out there, and A2 uses it.
Support - This is where I find A2 above and beyond anyone else I`ve ever used. I`ve never waited more than a couple minutes for either phone OR chat support. (My last hold time for chat support with my previous host was almost two hours.) When using phone support (I spoke with Rob), he didn`t make me feel as though I were a burden. His attitude and demeanor were that of a friend offering a helping hand. He was knowledgeable and didn`t have to put me on hold to research material. All of this goes a long way when trying to fix something. I used chat support once (can`t remember who I spoke with, unfortunately) and I had three issues. All three were fixed in a timely manner with no problems.
Flexibility - I made the mistake of purchasing a new domain with my previous host not realizing that within a few days I would decide to drop them, and in a hurry. While swapping to A2, I forgot about the domain being non-transferable until it`s 60 days old and I had already paid the transfer fee. A2 immediately got in touch with me and asked if I wanted the refund. I didn`t have to initiate contact or fight for my money...they made me aware of the situation and asked how they could fix it. I responded to them and asked if they could just keep the money and transfer the domain after the 60 days was up. They said that wouldn`t be a problem and to get in touch with them.
A2 has gone above and beyond, met every expectation and overall impressed me. I`ve used other hosts before that were nowhere near this level of service. As a matter of fact, I thought their sub-par standards were the norm. This made my experience with A2 jaw-dropping at times. A breath of fresh air. They`ve earned a lifelong customer with me.
The only 4 stars I give these guys is for support. While their support is ALWAYS courteous and ALWAYS helpful, I find response times can be a bit slow at times. However, I`ve been a client for them for well over 5 years, and I have no intention of going anywhere else. Thank you!! A2 is one of the greatest hosting companies I`ve dealt with.
Rob was terrific today helping to straighten out my login issues. He was friendly, patient and most importantly he fixed the problems that were keeping me from logging in to Wordpress. I have only had the service for a week but so far the customer service is absolutely fantastic! Every time I needed any help getting everything migrated over to A2 they were so fast and efficient in helping me with any issue.
The service provided is amazing, the speeds we get are faster than any of the other hosting services we trialled and are extremely good value for money. A2`s support though, is the best I`ve dealt with from any internet service!
This was tested recently when we had some serious external issues with our VPS: The support staff were always reachable, even in the middle of the night, via phone, instant message and their internal ticket system.
We`ve all dealt with support staff who are condescending and unwilling: our experience with Scott from A2 was the complete opposite!!
He was extremely knowledgable, listened to our problems and solved everything within his remit quickly and efficiently. After that the problem was escalated to the tech team and Sandeep performed like an absolute boss, solving multiple tickets and really going beyond the call of duty, even contacting third parties to fix all of our problems.
As far as I`m concerned this is exactly the sort reenforcement you need from a company that handles such a vital part of your business. I will recommend A2 to anyone I come across.
I had a question about something a security plugin suggested and A2 pointed me to a couple of articles that answered my question and saved me from doing something that very well could have caused me additional problems in the future. The response time was excellent so that I didn`t get impatient and go ahead and do something reckless while waiting for a day or two for an answer. I have had that happen with another hosting company which really angered me. Their service has been excellent.
Ive been with A2 for well over a year now and to be honest never used to be a fan of the support as it always referred to a help page and then was left to sort it out. Recently however they seem to have moved up a gear and now the support is excellent,often fixing problems instead of directing me how to fix them. Having recently moved my website to A2 Hosting from a different provider, I am simply gob-smacked by the level and the quality of support I am now getting. Where previously I`d be lucky to get chatting to a support person within half an hour, so far it`s taken just a few minutes. Where previously I would be lucky do get a response to a non-interactive support request within a few days (the response being generally not too helpful), I now had a couple of occasions of exchanging emails with A2 Hosting`s support within a day -- all their responses being extremely helpful and friendly (also a change!). I had another example just today. Submitted a ticket to have ``Let`s Encrypt`` SSL certificate installed on my website and its two subdomains and, it being 3a.m. at Michigan, did not expect much to happen in a hurry. Instead an email arrived within 15 minutes saying it was done.
Technically, A2 Hosting give me all I want (as an old hand Unix/Linux user I am happy to have ssh access and to do my own bash/Perl/PHP scripting) -- hat`s no different from what I had before.
Cost-wise the new service would have been a bit more expensive, except that A2 Hosting have incorporated Let`s Encrypt into their offering in a very sensible manner -- you just have to ask them to enable it. So I`ll be saving money too.
And so far, at least, machine response seems to be better too. So all in all, I am one very happy customer!
I am really so impressed with the support from A2. I moved my 10 sites, which was a big decision, but they handled the whole transfer so it was a breeze and I`ve had a couple of issues since logging into a couple of sites, and each problem has been dealt with swiftly via the ticket system. The support is rock solid and very available, I had one major DNS incident related to a subdomain, the team has been able to resolve.

Finally, they have excellent uptime and latencies worldwide.
If I had some cons:
• Sometimes the support just doesn`t treat the tickets, and no news, but it`s very rare (less than 5% of my tickets)
• No PHP caching on shared servers (opcache, etc...)

I`m extremely impressed, from the ease of signup to filing my first support ticket (my error not theirs). Because I hadn`t closed the ticket when the issue resolved itself, there was a mechanism in place for the support gurus to follow up and MAKE SURE I was not having any further issues. Initialy my ticket was confirmed with an autoresponder and then live support within 90mins even though I was not a premium support subscriber and I`m on shared hosting. I was hosted for 4 years by another webhost and they did a great job, however if you have a website that demands a lot more than just having readers browse through content, and would like to join in discussion and other features - a 3 seconds page load is a tremendous advantage - that`s what A2Hosting can do, and more.
The support is also lightning fast and the staff are courteous and professional. I chose their 2-year Turbo package plan and happy to note that friends noticed the fast loading of pages.
After 19 years I finally found a managed vps hosting provider whose staff has the experience and knowledge to solve problems with actions and answers, not delaying support tickets by writing a reply that says need more information , after you`ve already given step-by-instructions on how to duplicate a problem. I was suprised to find that my PTR request was answered within a couple hours, not a couple days. Best of all, A2 is tops when it comes to VPS machine ssd storage, dedicated (not shared) cores and ram, plus a 1gb/s port connection, instead of a 100mb/s port that is limited to 10-50mb/s due to server overselling.

Getting an unmanaged VPS through a2hosting has been a good experience so far.
I`ve been able to do everything I was hoping to until today.
It turns out a2hosting VPSs do NOT have FUSE enabled.
Unfortunately this is a major blow to our plans with the VPS (and to spin up other VPSs as needed).
Support has been good and I have seen no downtime (not monitoring yet, mind you).
Additionally without FUSE support we will have to not use this VPS so hopefully we will get our money back and either get an a2hosting dedicated server or go elsewhere, (I`ve seen articles suggesting FUSE is enabled for Amazon servers...).
wow the reply was fast and i can solve my trouble easily. the best point there is, is that i was offered to make a question even before i had them ^^ all in all, i am satisfied with this. thank you very much for the help :)

I have been using a2hosting.com for about 6 months and experiencing downtime every so often. Latest one is that server has been down for over a week now and with very little help form their support. My support tickets went unanswered for days. Very disappointing that this hosting company doesn`t understand that when the server is down for over a week, it usually means the end for most of the business.
After a week of waiting for the solution I have decided to move my site to another hosting provider. However I couldn`t backup my site for some reason. So, I have asked their support team to prepare the backup for me so I can move my site. 3 days ago they have emailed me to say that the download link will be sent to me once the backup is ready and since then I have not heard from them! Terrible service!
I can`t move my site without the backup copy. I can`t create the backup as I have to wait for their support to do it. So I am totally stuck!

I`ve been with A2 hosting for 3 years now. I have very mixed feelings about it. My website is on a ssd server and I must say the speed is good. Overall service was good. pricing is average. And untill recently I would have advised everybody to use A2
That chanced due to the problems there have been lately. for starters, In 3 years they never made their 99,9% uptime garantee. each year my webshop has been down for atleast 10 full days. Usualy 3-4 days in a row. So at best its a 97.2% uptime so still, not bad. livechat wait-times are from 1 minute up to 1 HOUR. (after which you need to send a message.) queing with 2 connections you can see how many are waiting, I found out that a 2 hour + waittime hapens.
Last downtime was in december, 3 days of server downtime. Once the server was back up, my site was still down. So I contacted A2 and they would look into it. After 30 hours I contacted them again, and found out they didnt look into it at all. so that was 30 hours lost. The next day they tell me my website is back online. However all I got was an empty page. so I contacted a2 again and as you may expect they would look into it. Another day passes and i get the reply that my database is missing some tables and they dont have a decent backup. So I uploaded my last backup- made with a2 hosting software- and they would get it back online.
The next day my webshop was back online but only half functioning. In Backoffice it was impossible to create new clients, orders, employees and products. It always worked before. So I contacted A2 again and they told me they restored my webshop so there was no discussion. My solution was to hire somebody to manualy write out orders and somebody to fix everything.He noticed that several database tables were incomplete. After 20 very expensive hours my webshop was back online and working again. I contacted A2 about the costs made and they offered a 1 month credit for the downtime, but didnt mention anything about the 2000 euros I had to pay due to their mistakes.
In another contact moment using the chat, one of the guru`s told me that the server I was on was almost empty because they migrated everybody due to performance issues. I had been complaining about it for a year but never got a migration offer from them. They waited with it untill the damage was already done.
My claim for compensation is still pending, if a2 denies it, It will go to my laywer.
As you may expect I can`t advice anybody to use a2 hosting anymore. Even though I know the chances are slim to none that anybody gets the same problems I have. At the moment even 1 star is to much for me.
"Unlimited Storage" is a lie, plain and simple. The service was okay
while it lasted, but now you`re kicking me off. I am only using 37G.
It would be a great inconvenience to move my site elsewhere, I`ll
probably just shut it down. So, I`m a totally unsatisfied customer.
